Refresh at the Ranch

Located at the 320 Guest Ranch between Yellowstone and Big Sky, McGill’s is a culinary destination in and of itself. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or looking for a truly Montana dining experience along your journey, we invite you to swing into McGill’s.

History of the McGill’s Dining Room

The story of the McGill’s dining room is as old as the ranch itself. The original Wilson homestead cabin is part of the restaurant, allowing guests to step back in history to the earliest days of the ranch when it was the Buffalo Horn Resort.

How it got its name

The restaurant at the 320 Guest Ranch is named in honor of Dr. Caroline McGill, the ranch’s second and most famous owner. As history tells, Dr. McGill first spotted the ranch in 1911 while riding on the back of a bobsled. McGill had moved to Butte, Montana for a job as a pathologist. While not busy tending to residents of the mining town, she found time to get outside to enjoy nature. Dr. McGill purchased the ranch in 1936 as a retreat for her patients and friends. Today, we share Dr. McGill’s vision of the 320 Guest Ranch as a place that is both mentally and physically restorative, where we can connect with nature, ourselves and each other.

Whiskey Flight

Our spin on classic cocktails, the whiskey flight is a medley of whiskey-based favorites that are oak barrel aged. This process allows the flavors to marinate over time and offers a unique taste, especially if you are only familiar with freshly mixed drinks. Pictured here are the Percheron, Raspberry Negroni and Manhattan.
